Usually enjoy the food and service here, however on our last visit we ordered a drink while we decided what we wanted to eat. We weren't informed at the time of ordering the drinks that last food orders were 3pm ( drinks were ordered at 250pm). We went to order at 3pm but were told we were too late. Food was still being brought out to other customers. I would of thought they would inform customers when ordering drinks that the kitchens would be closing soon if you were wanting something to eat.

What a lovely pub with good solid food. We recently visited for a Sunday lunch and had the food been a bit more flavourful we would have given 5 stars. The staff were so lovely, friendly, and exceptional. The pub itself had excellent ambiance in a stunning location. It was also clean and well decorated for Christmas. My only slight knock was that the food was quite bland but everything cooked well. Just a little more seasoning and care taken with the food would make this place exceptional! Definitely will go back!

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a good experience. The pub is cosy but overall the hotel feels quite tired and dated, could do with some modernising to keep up with other 4 star hotels. It’s in a great location being so close to all the hiking trails. The locally sourced lamb burger was delicious and staff were friendly.

After a good walk around Ladybower we stopped here for lunch, we hadn't booked but found a table for two. It's dog friendly everywhere but the conservatory, also dog treats I noticed on the bar. I had steak n Kidney pie with chips and veg which was delicious! Hubby had fish n chips which were also very good. Portions sizes meant we had no room for any dessert , maybe next time. The place is well cared for, very clean the toilets were immaculate. Definitely recommend 👌

Absolutely lovely place in stunning location in the Peak District! Came here for tea and dinner. The service was quick, staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely amazingly delicious. The place is very dog friendly, allowing dogs both outside and inside the pub/ restaurant. Definitely coming back and bringing my friends ❤️
