It's a typical Yates pub, the food looks very good seeing what other people had orfdered. The toilets are in the neordered. And the disabled toilet didn't have a light. The biggest problem is that even with only 6 people in the place the staff still feel the need to have the music so loud that it makes your ears bleed.

I was in around the festive season. The music was awful. Some niche sound, where the DJ playing clearly thought he was playing to his mates in his front room. The DJ was terribly rude to one of my friends when they asked him a question. When I complained to the manager about how rude and aggressive he was, she told me it was out of her hands, and to write a bad review. So, here I am. There was a really nice young (potentially camp – not sure how to describe them) he/them behind the bar, that was very friendly and helpful. The DJ was ... I want to say maybe a Nigerian man, in his 50s.He wears glasses and has a beard. He really brought bad energy and it was Christmas. He was litterally shouting at us when he was in the background of one of our photos, clearly he had something to hide. I just thought it was interesting how protected by the management staff he was, considering he was being so unreasonable. Even the security were rolling their eyes at him. I did not feel listened to or respected. I've worked on many late night bars, and I understand the difficulty of dealing with challenging drunk customers, but I was not one of them. I don't drink. I've never expected much from Yates, but I was very disappointed by the way the managing staff handled the situation, considering my respectful group of friends were the few people in there that night and we spent a lot of money. I would never go back again, and for so many other reasons, I'd advise you: DON'T BOTHER. Weatherspoons, The Crypt, Bat & Bee are all far more lively, friendly and fun places to have a night out in Hastings, all in a 30 second radius.

Had to eat here at as a family member birthday. Would never choose to. Food gross very unappealing had the Giant pigs in blankets with “so nasty” smash mash eww Which they forgot. Other people in group had dessert which served cold. That was returned to the kitchen. Staff was starting to sound stropy. Again they forgot mine. So I just got my money back. Toilet a result of many drunken evenings most doors are smashed in and don’t lock. Tables are sticky just felt dirty So Food= -0 Service = 0 Don’t understand why they booked to eat here honestly

Holy cow the years have not been kind to this place, standards always used to be fairly high. Food is cheap yes, good no! I'm sorry but if you order a SF chicken sub with melted cheese then it might be helpful if the food was hot enough to actually melt said cheese. The side order of pigs in blankets that were ordered arrived barely cooked at all. The young chap serving behind the bar today was very helpful, the other staff members seemed to spend most of their time stomping about pulling faces like they'd just gotten detention. With so many other food outlets in such close proximity it beggars the question why standards have been allowed to fall so low.
