Stayed at this hotel for a business trip to Guildford and found it very pleasant. Maintenance and improvement work is going ahead at the moment on the hotel reception and the rooms have been recently upgraded.. Positives - The pub, its choice of beers and wines and the fabulous food on offer, choice and quality. - Grounds are lovely - It’s nice and quiet - good car parking spaces Things to improve - room far too hot, no air conditioning visible - no USB or plugs by the bed, how is this possible in a modern refit - location of the main light switch. Behind the curtains, which means you have to open the curtains to turn the light on and off and then people can see you from outside.
Stayed last night at this hotel. Room was very comfy and had everything you need. The food in the restaurant was excellent as were the quality of beer available and cocktails. The grounds were lovely to look at also with a lake at the bottom of the garden. The staff were superb from arrival to check out. They have a great sense of humour. Will no doubt be staying again.
Your hotel was perfectly placed for why we were there, to see a show at the Memorial Hall. Our room, being an easy access room was wonderful. As I had just had a hip replacement, it was ideal. The bathroom was superb, only problem was, it could do with a lower shelf maybe alongside the sink for personal toiletries, and we found the sink rather small, but overall, wonderful. Our breakfasts were lovely, delivered with hardly any waiting time. Overall stay, wonderful.
Such a lovely stay here last night. You felt the warm welcome from the moment you checked in, through to breakfast the following morning, hosted by the lovely Olivier. The food at dinner was delicious (the chicken schnitzel is a must), the room with the best made bed I've ever seen, and the grounds are just beautiful. I'll definitely be back.
If you haven’t stayed here or experienced the food then get online and book! This is my second stay here and it did NOT disappoint!! From Olivier at breakfast where everything is effortless and efficient to Eve at diner who is helpful and cheerful. The rooms have been decorated to a high standard and slept so well I thought I was in my own bed at home.
