Lovely village pub. Really friendly staff.Had a family party in the event room. Food was excellent. Very filling and homemade chunky chips were amazing.
We had the Christmas three course meal. The main course of turkey was hot and plentiful. Sadly the mackerel starter was poor, the mackerel seemed to have just come out of the packet in the fridge it was cold and firm with a tiny bit of garnish. The Christmas pudding dessy was tasty but meagre and tepid. Shame because we'd taken along a couple of friends who were a bit disappointed. The staff however were very efficient.
Absolutely love the food, service and atmosphere. Every meal we've had there from fish and chips, steak, pie or even Sunday roast has been amazing. Lovely wine selection too. The staff are always friendly and attentive.
We dropped in for lunch and had a lovely meal. I had haddock and chips which the chef grilled at my request rather than batter and it was lovely with tartare sauce and mushy peas. My husband had chicken and leek pie, chips and peas. The pie was very tasty, with lots of meat and a good flavour of leek. We plan to return. Drinks, there was a good selection of beers, lagers and ciders and non alcohol, which was great as I was driving. Very clean and friendly.
This is the 1st time that I've been to this pub/restaurant, it definitely won't be the last from entering the woodlands tavern we were met with a warm greeting the staff were friendly and very efficient. They paid attention to the little things which really impressed me and my friend. We were taken to our table and one of the waiters was putting the water down without even having to ask this showed the quality of service. The menu had something for everyone and when the food arrived every mouthful was delicious. Thank you Woodlands Tavern for a wonderful evening. We will see you soon.
