We provide a quiz night every Tuesday evening starting at 9pm, Live music each Saturday from 9pm and host many events throughout the year.

It’s a bit hit or miss. Things have changed for the better since the first time we went after moving to the area but we’re finding it a bit hit or miss. Previous time we went son #2 got the lamb shoulder which was excellent. My fish and chips were a bit eh. Breading wasn’t crisp and a bit thick but partner enjoyed the chicken sandwich. This last time we went…. Partner got chicken schnitzel which wasn’t bad. A bit dry and garlic butter instead of a proper mustard. It was ok. I got the shrimp garlic/chili linguini since no lamb shoulder that day. For having chili there was no sign of heat and the tomato sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Shrimp was nice but wouldn’t get it again. Was also supposed to have cheese shavings and those were missing. Son #1 got the bangers and mash which was quite good. Caramelized onions was a nice touch which I enjoyed. Son didn’t touch. :-)
Peter's 70th Birthday... Peter used to work here and he cought up with a now staff member and they swapped recollections of times gone by,very nice.... Celebrations with family. Had a really nice vegetarian choice for the roast dinner,loads of it too. Everyone had a huge roast dinner,lovely drinks and good company and surroundings. Would recommend.
Went for lunch, and it was a very pleasant experience. The beef and ale pie was delicious, and the accompanying mash and vegetables (and gravy) spot on. Beautifully presented too. Service just right - attentive but not intrusive. Impressed. Would (probably will!) go again.

we went here for an evening meal. I was able to take my dog with me to save him whinning at home. My friend had the burgers after a starter of chilli prawns and nachos. Both my husband and i picked items which were sold out earlier, namely sea bass and cumberland sausages. So we had to settle for haddock and chips and chargilled chicken salad. The fish was excellent, the batter really crispy. The salad was nice but the chargrilled chicken was a bit dry, but there was a willing participant under the table who thought it better than the applaws i had bought for him. A band started playing at 21.00. Songs i actually recognised from my school days. Too noisey for the husband, he was straight out the door. Overall an enjoyable evening.
