About us

It is a pub bursting with stories of locals that have been loyal through generations of families. A place where regulars enjoy a drink at the bar, holiday-makers pop into on their way to and from Wales - and anyone can simply enjoy a friendly atmosphere with great food and drink!

The style of food reflects the feel of the inn - absolutely 'proper'. Top quality local ingredients are used to prepare the best of pub food. The Windmill is all about enjoying a good meal with friends; there is nothing fancy or pretentious - just honest, top quality pub food - prepared by our Chef, and his team in the kitchen. There is a tasty twist when it comes to dessert - Jane makes these herself, even the ice cream. You might even want to start with dessert! Jane does not stop here - homemade chutneys, elderflower cordials using elderflowers from the hedgerows and every table is completed with one of Jane's fabulous flower arrangements.

Jane, Peter, the manager - Jill, and the team look forward to welcoming you to their very special Shropshire inn very soon.

We selected The Windmill Inn as the destination for our shoot dinner this season and have been thrilled with both the service and food provided by Sarah, Peter and the rest of the team. It's our first year as a syndicate and the social element was really important to us but following a meeting with Peter & Sarah we were left with no doubt that we would be well-looked after. The Windmill Inn were always warm and welcoming, we had a private dining room where the fire was always lit, the drinks service was second to none and the food came out on time every time (and tasted great!). A huge thank you on behalf of all who joined throughout the season and we look forward to seeing you in Autumn. Will

I had the pleasure of eating lunch at the Windmill Inn today. I opted for "Today's Special" a seafood pasta, which featured very generously sized prawns and a gorgeous white wine sauce. The flavours were superb. The charming Country Inn atmosphere added to the overall appeal, making it a memorable visit, thank you. I would definitely recommend the Windmill Inn for a superb meal.

This truely is a country pub with all the bells and whistles. If you get the chance to eat outside the views are stunning and the food is excellent. Well worth a visit.

First time visiting here on a sunny, beautiful Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy and has the most amazing beer garden with views! Inside looked nice as well, nice atmosphere and vibe. Service was excellent, very attentive, friendly and prompt. Food was really good, especially the windmill burger, so flavoursome and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend visiting here.

Visited at very short notice on a busy Saturday afternoon, the staff were fantastic, friendly and very attentive. They went out of their way to accommodate 9 of us! The food was fantastic and we actually ended up booking for the Sunday dinner too as we were camping nearby. We were able to have the whole annex to ourselves which was fabulous. The food again on the Sunday was really good, well cooked and decent portion sizes. Again I have to thank the staff for being so accommodating and patient with 5 fussy children 🤣I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area! Thank you! Also I can't forget the 2 friendly dogs!!!
