DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY We booked a one night stay earlier this year, only for the day to come and receive absolutely nothing from this company. We were supposed to book food options and receive check in information prior to the stay but got nothing, questions to their Facebook page went unanswered and only received an automated message about 'refurbishment', no answer on their business line or on either of the two mobile numbers given to us at the time of booking. Our night away never went ahead because of this ghosting and now both website and Facebook page have been removed. Once a wonderful company from the looks of the other reviews, now a bunch of scam artists who just take your money and don't provide the service.
NOTHING like the photos they advertise!!! Was really dirty , found clipped toe nails on sofa .. bed was broke so they put a board under mattress, very uncomfortable!! Hot tub water was dirty , the lid was all snapped n broke , the bath inside didn't even hold water . Food wasn't nice either definitely wouldn't recommend!!! I didn't want to have to wright a bad review but I don't want anyone else to be disappointed and ruin a night away like we did .. y
This review is bitter sweet really. And its constructive criticism as it's a really nice place, we stayed lastnight for 1 night. First of all communication isn't fantastic id been waiting for a reply from messages for days but, on the day we were arriving we got a message via messenger asking to choose from a list of food options for tea, we didn't like any so said we would be fine with a chip butty. They went above and beyond and ordered us what we wanted from a local takeaway so that was really nice. When we got there we were welcomed by a young girl who showed us to our room, as soonas we walked in we could smell like a fusty smell, later we realised its due to carpet been damp where people have probably walked in from hot tub. Meal came to the room on time which was fantastic but nobody came to collect dirty pots with trolley so we left the trolley with pots on outside the room and they wasn't collected until this morning. Mattress let this down definitely needs replacing, felt every spring so not a good night's sleep unfortunately. Hot tub was fantastic but couldn't get Bluetooth working possible me doing something wrong but hot tub was nice and private. The room is a little bit dated, wallpaper peeling off, flys in room, bathroom floor very slippy and bedding didn't smell very clean but other than that the grounds are excellent very relaxing location. Breakfast this morning was lovely but cover for food and trolley breakfast came on not very clean so did put us off slightly but If the following changes were made we would stay again and pay more. Mattress definitely, rug in front of door to stop fusty smell. Slightly updated and just cleaner in general then it would easy be worth £200 a night. Lovely place just shame about mattress.
I would love to comment and say we had a fantastic stay at The White Heather but unfortunately this hasn’t been the case. In December I paid £180 for a voucher for the overnight hot tub stay deal (based on the fact it looked great and wanted it to be a nice gift for my other half). I’ve been trying to message to book in since May (Facebook messenger, email & via phone) and didn’t have any luck with them getting back to me. Since then I have asked for a refund, based on the fact I can’t get booked in to use the voucher. I’ve been chasing this for the last couple of months, lots of messages read, phone calls etc. but again I’m still waiting for the refund and they haven’t been in touch to arrange this despite numerous (polite) emails, messages etc. it might not seem a lot of money, but it is to us and ultimately it was a birthday present for my partner which hasn’t come to anything. Really disappointed with this to be honest because it looks like a lovely place.
First time visiting this place and it didn't disappoint. We booked the hot tub weekend deal. Great rooms, they are very spacious and cosy. Hot tub was fab too was great to be able to use the bluetooth to play music. Meals were included (evening meal and breakfast) the choice of evening meals were great, generous portion sizes and were delicious. All brought to the room, fantastic service. This was a fabulous night away for our wedding anniversary. Would recommend and will definitely be returning.
