About us

When Wetherspoon’s chairman, Tim Martin, opened his first pub in north London, in 1979, he named it Wetherspoons, after a Mr Wetherspoon – his teacher at primary school in New Zealand. The reasoning behind the name is that Mr Wetherspoon was too nice to be running Tim’s particular class and couldn’t control it; Tim thought to himself that, likewise, he couldn’t control his first pub, so considered the name to be appropriate.

It's a typical Wetherspoons with the convenience of being in a train station. Food was decent enough, the bartenders and staff are quite rude as if they are doing you a favour by serving you. The atmosphere is loud and very crowded. I would not recommend this place, nor ANY Wetherspoons. Go to an actual British restaurant and not one that's trying to shut down all ACTUAL British pubs and restaurants.

It's a wetherspoons innit Got a brunch plate on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty standard fare. But I've really missed it so it tasted better than normal I'd say. Conveniently located inside the station, good for a quick bite and a quick pint.

I needed a quick breakfast after an early morning flight and this was a solid choice. The food is just okay, nothing special, but the service was quick. It was rather quiet around 9 on a Saturday but people started to come in for a later breakfast. I enjoyed the coffee refill option and the possibility to order via app. A better experience than expected, overall.

With so many options for good beer nearby it’s easy to overlook this venue. Forgotten how good this Spoons actually is - fast efficient service and some great cask ales. The craft cans are excellent value as well.

Very comfortable seats with electric charging and wifi, fast delivery of standard food, excellent for lonely travellers before or after train journey, a perfect dinner before taking taxi to hotel.
