We went to the Albany Club for the wake of a friend & work colleague, Rich Robinson. It was an amazing atmosphere. Rock, metal & heavy rock music was on, followed by a live band, who were really good. It was like going back to the brill old days of biker bars. It's a medium sized club with a good assortment of beers, cider & spirits. There is a small private car park at the back for bikes but if its full, there is a pay & display car park just around the corner. Would love to go again but for a different occasion.
The Albany is a member's club but an annual membership can be bought for 10 pounds. There is a lounge bar on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a large event room with bar. This can be hired for private functions. The club often has live music on the weekends. The bar drinks are cheaper than pther local bars and pubs.
Friendly lively atmosphere. Thursday and Sunday are the disco for the community. Great bands on a Friday and Saturday. Great Sunday dinners but pay by cash.
Popped into watch the rugby. Great 1950s working mens club themed pub. Even had a 1930s gangster. Locals very competitive on the pool table.
I was there as a guest at a party a while back the Staff were rude from start to finish The lady on the front desk couldn’t be bothered to look up for her phone to let us know where we were going The bar team were slow but not too bad And at the end the security guard was incredibly rude and asking people to leave Then all the staff arrived to help themselves to the food rather than giving an option to take it home We had a lovely night that was let down by the rude staff
