You will find The Wellington in Strand London within a short stroll of Aldwych, Covent Garden and Burleigh Street - however you won't find another like it.
Our pub dates from 1903 and is well known for featuring an attractive neo-gothic exterior. We retain many lovely original features such as our long wooden bar. We are of course, named after Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, whose historic victory over Napoleon in 1815 ended the Napoleonic Wars. We sit next to Covent Garden, a name derived from the 'Convent Garden' which belonged to Westminster Abbey.
The Wellington is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.

The staff is amazing, but a special shout out to Aurora. She is truly a gem and I wish we had found this place earlier. Everyone is wonderful and made us feel so welcome. Great ambiance and great drinks. Don’t forget to order the Double Chocolate Brownie!
A wonderful place to have lunch before the Lion King show (afternoon). The platter for 2 was just perfect. The halloumi fries a revelation. Excellent food. And the service was just superb. 100%
This was a vintage establishment. I heard pub food was not as expensive as other eateries. We came at a good time. This location will let you know what the average Londoner experiences when eating out. I picked a good dish based upon ingredients because I'm very good with determining that flavor as a result. My presentation was good but the service is almost like do it yourself. My friend had fish and chips and of course it left a lot to be desired in terms of flavor. I was glad I chose mine. See my photo. I don't remember the name of the dish?
Nice place. Nice stuff. The extra charge of 10% for Service was not mentioned when I gave my extra tip. Food is good. Not cheap. Small portions. I can recommend it if you will head to a musical in the area. Otherwise it is normal.
