About us

Situated at the gateway to Devon, midway between the county towns of Taunton and Exeter, The Weary Traveller lies just 100 yards from Junction 28 of the M5 Motorway, at the edge of the market town of Cullompton.

The Weary Traveller, known as The Dermot Oโ€™Leary or Knackered Nomad to the locals, is a traditional pub with a friendly, pleasant atmosphere where the regulars, which range from suits to students, bikers to babes, lawyers to layabouts, relax in the clean and comfortable dรฉcor.

Hearty, country cooking is available daily at affordable prices, plus a nice selection of wines and beers.

Entertainment wise, most Saturdays there is some genre of live music, with the odd DJ mixing sounds into the early hours of a Friday night. From May to August, special weekend outdoor summer events are hosted, which include BBQs and music parties.

Excellent calvery, we had a table of 8 and was able to get seated and eat ontime. Selection of 4 meats - turkey, beef, pork and ham of which you are allowed 2, portions of meat was very fair and they were all cooked to perfection. Nice selection of veg, sauces. Good drinks menu with prompt table service.

This is a handy place to stop it's just off the M5 junction 28 it's so handy for a drink and a bite to eat, rather than get ripped off at the motorway services and pay very high prices. The food is lovely and cooked fresh to order and as you will see by my photos you get a really good portion, the landlady and her lovely young waitress made you fell very welcome.we will have to try their Sunday carvery have heard itโ€™s very nice............. Popped in here again for the Sunday carvery, well what can I say it was brilliant value for the money,They do three meals, small, standard and large,we both opted for the standard meals of which you can have two types of meat if you wish. There were three meats on offer,Beef,Turkey and Pork, then help your self to as much vegetables as you like........I can highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.....๐Ÿ‘
