This is a very good city centre bar, traditional decor and a small outdoor area. It's spacious and has a good selection of ales and lagers. Very handy for a bus or metro.

Our attention was drawn by the name Crows Nest as this is a rough translation of my name and is my wifi id 😄 and secondly because the days special was steak and ale pie, which is a relic of my Australian heritage. Loved the food and atmosphere.

Went in to watch the rugby world cup semi final: delighted to find somewhere showing it in this football town. Sat down at a free table, relieved. Just tried to get some food (at 7:40), to settle in and enjoy the evening and found out the kitchen was already closed (despite the fact that it says online that food is served until 9PM!). Disappointed to not be able to get food and had to rush around to try and find somewhere to grab a quick bite 20 mins before the match started! Quite annoying frankly. Other than that, it's a nice pub with good beer and good vibes but I was counting on the food being available at reasonable times!

Thoroughly enjoyed the drinks I had there. Unfortunately can not rate the food as I didn't have any but I imagine it's as great as the service. As was served multiple times by a lovely young lady called Neve, who was very friendly and pleasant to chat to. Hi crows nest, it won't let me leave a new review so having to edit this open. Per your recommendation try try the food, I did so. And will say I'm I am absolutely shocked, that it has taken me so long try try the food. I ordered the flat iron steak I think it's called and I genuinely can not recall the last time I've had steak cooked so perfectly. I asked the staff to passed on my regards to the chef who they informed me is called Emily. I hope you never lose her as looking forward to ordering more food again in the future.

Amazing pub! My wife and I were visiting New Castle. We stumbled apon this pub. The bar tenders were an amazing and friendly bunch. I didn't know what beer to choose. The suggestion for Beak Brewery Imperial Stout was a wonderful suggestion! Also was able to sample a few beers they had on tap. I loved the Flint Eye. The pub grub went beyond our expectations! The Fish and Chips took a bit of time but, Boy... It was worth the wait! The crispy fish and chips with a side of peas was delectable! Especially with the vinegar, and it paired nicely with the beer. No regrets were had here! My wife and I absolutely enjoyed the time we spent here at the Crows Nest. Next time we visit, we will be looking forward to coming back to their establishment! I highly recommend them!
