About us

Our award winning Quayside bar is located at the heart of Newcastle's bustling tourist industry on the banks of the River Tyne. With the 'tilting' Millennium Bridge providing much entertainment, along with The Baltic, Sage (Contemporary Music Venue) & The Tyne bridge itself we really do hold the perfect location. This makes the outside area, which can accomadate over 200 people, one of the best places to enjoy a drink!.

Esther gave excellent customer service and was able to take my order in Swahili - one of the very many languages she can speak!! We were blown away when we left the bar to find that she had built my family a new home (Pictured below for evidence). Can't believe she did it with her bare hands while we had a quick pint. Esther told us she rebuilt a family's house after a terrible fire destroyed it and that was much harder to work with given the damage, so building us a new home was no trouble at all. Thank you Esther.

Decided to come for a small bite and the small platter option hits the spot. Alice (pictured by accident trying to get a photo of the bridge) our server was really friendly and had great service from her. I’ve not come here at night so the music was rather loud for my liking as I had to raise my voice to speak but I got use to it after 15 minutes 😅

I didn't eat here hence why only 4 stars ⭐, but I had a few drinks here I was there around 4 o'clock on a Wednesday which wasn't peak time so there was a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The bar staff were really nice and welcoming. There was an option to have hot drinks and food but, I had cocktails as I fancied something different they were on but one get one free on alcoholic and none alcoholic ones and a good selection of other alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Prices where mid range, in that area they can range from £7-£12 per cocktail. It is right next to the river and the foot bridge which takes you over to Gateshead nice and romantic on a winters night.

Lovely place with nice atmosphere and view. The staff is super friendly and cheerful The starter we had the tenders and hash browns. These were tasty. As regards the halloumi , we didn’t like it as it was not crispy or tasty. The mozzarella pizza , cheese burger and the honey butter chicken burger were delicious, flavoured nicely. Highly recommend 👌👍

Food & drink

We believe in good, tasty, fresh food every time. So much so, that we’ve spent the past few months working super-hard to create the perfect menu for the season.

Lunchtime promises hearty sandwiches (try our Proper Sausage Buttie – it’s one of our favs) and juicy burgers. If you’re watching the waistline, one of our healthy salads will do the trick to see you through the day. But if you’re feeling a little indulgent, one of our marvellous mains followed by a delicious pud should do it; sticky toffee pudding – you know you want to! Or if you just can’t decide enjoy our grazing dishes whenever you like.

All in all when it comes to food, we promise to serve great quality; simply done and perfectly presented. Honest, home-from-home dishes at their best.

Enjoy!
