Popped in on a Sunday for a roast and opted for the Duo. Only waited about 15 minutes and it was absolutely delicious. Asked for extra gravy and it arrived very quickly. The meat was tender and the vegetables cooked to perfection. An excellent meal after a 7 mile walk.
We stayed here after coming to Lizard for our sister in laws funeral. Staff were wonderful .. Hotel and Rooms were faultless and the food excellent. Staff even turned up for funeral and dedicated a bench to my sister in law and her husband. Would stay here everything .. every in Lizard so friendly would love to live here and Top House would deffo me our local.
Nice selection on the menu, including vegetarian. I had the fish and chips with peas with the Lizard mess for sweet. It's very tasty. Nice friendly and helpful staff. All nice and clean .
Been meaning to come here for ages and finally dropped in after our long family walk down to the point. Fantastic classic pub feel, really lovely atmosphere. Even my youngest said he likes it there as it was quiet and relaxing. Definitely a point of call now every time I'm near Lizard now.
Lovely looking pub located in a great place. Staff were friendly and polite. First round of drinks came quickly and food ordered were taken. Food took nearly an hour for scampi, fish and chips and a chicken breast for our dog. We asked for another round of drinks which we then had to go and chase up as after 15 minutes these hadn't arrived. When food did arrive the amount of chips was minimal. The staff member bringing out food did go and bring us extra chips. We then asked about the chicken for the dog and were told it was coming. We ate our food which was nice and asked again as a staff member was near by about the chicken. 10 minutes after we'd finished we then went to the bar to ask about the chicken again which was then brought out. In short the food was nice although a little over priced for what we got. The staff are freindly buy the service was the biggest let down. Edit following a reply:- We were never informed of how long food would take. If we had been told it would have managed our expectations. Likewise regarding the grilled Chicken we asked for. Had we been told that you don't do food for dogs we wouldn't have been bothered, the issue arose because we were told it was OK and then we had to chase for the food to be brought out.
