At the Tintagel Arms we offer quality B&B and self catering accommodation where you can enjoy a great selection of local Cornish real ales, beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks in a comfortable and cosy pub atmosphere. Our freshly cooked, homemade food is served all day until 9pm at night and includes breakfast, cream teas and a specials board featuring our team of chefs’ specials of the day including local fish dishes. North Cornwall's mild climate, distinct cultural identity and gorgeous countryside have made it one of the most popular holiday destinations in Southern England. On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly young man who checked us in and showed us to our room and also informed us what time breakfast would be served, the room was clean and tidy with en-suite and a TV also had a kettle and a couple of cups with a selection of tea and sugar, unfortunately the kettle wouldn't fit under the tap so had to use the cup to fill the kettle up only used it the once. Couldn't use the en-suite to it's full potential as the window had been left open so long it had gone stiff and a bit rusty, the bed itself was comfortable with the exception of the headboard which had a metal bar running across from one side to the other which made it uncomfortable for watching TV so had to lay vertualy flat, in the morning we were welcomed by a very pretty and polite young lady who saw to our needs and took our order, the breakfast on both occasions was very nice and cooked to perfection would have been nice if black pudding was included but not a problem it wasn't. Overall a nice place to stay if on a budget.
Really poor quality rooms, mouldy grouting in shower, stains on walls, no headboard, canvas type wardrobe with broken shelves. Surfaces, handrails / tables etc, were sticky. Service from the lady at breakfast was great but very limited choice of menu for breakfast and instant coffee only. Feels in need of a complete overhaul and TLC, glad we were only there one night or I would have been looking to go somewhere else.
Very disappointed with this hotel. Its is massively over priced for the quality of it. The bed was so soft I sunk to the frame when I sat on it. Rooms looked worn out and dated. TV was very small, the remote didn't work most of the time and the TV signal was shocking so I couldn't watch TV. Only had 'basket meals' available for food. And on the Friday night they had a band on in the bar, sounded like they were murdering old rock songs. I wouldn't have booked if I'd known there would be a band on late at night. I was leaving early the next day so I wanted an early night but there was no chance of that.
Adrian and staff are lovely, very welcoming and made us feel at home along with the locals. Breakfast was more than adequate a good selection of cereal, fruit juice and good selection of cooked food.Really good location for visiting other places of interest. We arrived as strangers and left as if we had known them for years. We had a lovely few days there.
This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here and we’ve already booked to go back again in July. Such a friendly and laid back atmosphere, very welcoming and we felt like we’ve known them forever. Very attentive and friendly staff along with the best member of staff Jack the dog. The food was amazing and the locals were friendly too! Couldn’t ask for a better experience and a massive thanks to Ade, Ducky and Clare for making our stay memorable!
