Had a wonderful meal with family this past Sunday. We each ordered different courses but were impressed with how good they all were. Only gripe is that we asked for some table water to go with the wine for the table but this was forgotten. The restaurant has got rather busy by then however.

We went to the burns night at The Tigers Head last week. It was a four course meal for a reasonable £28 each. I had the pheasant stater, then Haggis with mash and gravy, the main was Wild Boar Bangers & Mash, & desert was Chocolate Torte with Ice Cream. Everything we ate was very tasty, the pheasant in particular was excellent. The Haggis was surprisingly nice also, it wasn’t something I’d had before. The pub had a relaxed cosy vibe. The waiting staff were brilliant, they were attentive and quick to serve up the food. The wife had the vegetarian set meal. She said she really liked all her food but in particular the vegan haggis was her favourite. Good food, reasonably price, nice surroundings, and hard working staff 👍

Excellent food, and I'm picky. The red wine lasagna my husband ordered was scrumptious, flavourful and warming. My fish and chips had lovely flavour and the fish was moist, the tartar sauce had plenty of capers and flavour. Extra bonus is it was very affordable given the quality and the area. Service was quick and nice. We'll be back!

The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, and the Maitre'd warmly welcomed us. Our waitress was polite and helpful throughout. We started with pre-meal cocktails—the bramble twist Bombay was nice, but the winter berry bellini was disappointing, lacking raspberries and served in a quantity of just over half a prosecco glass, as evident in the photograph. Moving on to the main courses, both were underwhelming and served at a lukewarm temperature. My apple tart dessert had soggy pastry, and the coconut vanilla ice cream was tasteless and icy. Unfortunately, my dining companion and I fell ill after our visit. Draw your conclusions from that.

This is a wonderful place. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was amazing. And the service, which is the only part I can comment on with some authority with my background, is first class. JIMMY and SCOTT treat everyone so well (and professionally) along with the team of staff they have with them. I would not hesitate to recommend this pub. It's a jewel right here on our door step. I don't remember the last time I could not choose which was better the food or the service. The group of friends I went with and I have not stopped talking about this place. A dream of mine would be to say the line "Go to so and so, and tell so and so I sent you." I definitely want to be a regular at the Tigers Head no doubt about it. But there's no need to drop names because everyone is a guest there! My review maybe vague, but that's because you have to experience it for yourselves. So I'll leave you with this one request "Go to the Tigers Head and tell Jimmy and Scott I sent you"
