We had my mum's 75th Surprise Birthday Party recently and it was lovely. Staff were great and made sure we were well catered for throughout. The food was delicious, in our order there were 5 steaks and every one was asked for cooked differently and every one was perfect! It made for a lovely night out, no complaints at all.
Empty pub, that, unfortunately, cannot possibly seat you for drinks. We've been in twice, and both times there were around 18 people in, and a lot of empty tables. The first time we were allowed the high privilege of sitting inside, but clearly they wanted us to upgrade to an eating table. That was for two of us. Drinks were adequate, but holiday park prices. On the second visit, again, very few people in, four adults and two children for a quick drink before returning to our caravan on the park; we were asked "are you just here for drinks?" and told, politely, that there were no seats just for drinks, unless we wanted to sit outside. We visited in December. It wasn't Christmas busy, it was empty. On neither visit did it fill up. Second visit involved expensive but good cocktails, for two of us, and a standard but pricey bottled beer; again, holiday park prices. Looks nice, staff doing the best they can, but "just for drinks, sorry ,there are literally no seats" policy when there are at least fifteen empty tables is preposterous. If, indeed, the tables are booked, allow people to use them who are actually there, with a "will need to be vacated" proviso, instead of leaving them empty for people coming later. On the first visit we were there for an hour and two of (at least) fifteen empty tables filled. Leaving (at least) thirteen. This feels like an upsales technique, and it isn't pleasant.
Came here as a kid and I used to love it however I believe it might have a change of ownership. Was not the same as it used to be. Staff weren’t that friendly and it felt like we were more of a burden instead of being welcomed. Service was good time wise and the mood was alright but nothing amazing especially for the price. There was a vegan at our table and the selection was highly limited and she could only eat a couple bites of the risotto as it wasn’t very nice. Overall it was alright but I wouldnt recommend for vegans or vegetarians as there is poor selection. Very disappointed compared to how it used to be.
Love a nice steak, the sirloin I had was up there with the best I’ve had. Definitely recommend. Staff were all very helpful. The outdoor area looked good for when the weather is warmer
They say book online, phone signal very poor in that area, so was impossible. Went in on speck, found us a table. Service was professional and staff very friendly.
