A great characterful pub with lots of history. My Wife and I enjoyed a meal here with a special Burns Night themed set menu, whcih we thought was excellent value with 4 courses for £28. The food was good. We did have an issue with the Dessert, but this was dealt with swiftly and thoughtfully by the staff and we were more than appropriately compensated for this. Wouldn't hesitate to return, and to recommend!
Visited today and had a brilliant lunch – Our server Olly was friendly & attentive, giving us a warm welcome and checking that we were enjoying our meal. The food was also great, with plenty of options for the kids & my wife who is gluten free.
Lovely pub bit slow on service food nice said no tables so there was a wait but seemed to be a few empty so not sure why that was
Update. 16 August 2023: Our experience at the Swan Pub, where I took my girlfriend for her birthday, was excellent. We are always very impressed by the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere of the pub. The food was fantastic. We ordered the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, the Mushroom and Ale Pie, which was cooked to perfection and had a rich and savoury gravy and the Wild Boar Burger, which was amazingly good. The portions were generous (though the burgers could use a few more fries) and the sides were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the dessert, the Caramelised Vanilla Cheesecake, which is the best desert on the menu, and it was so tasty and decadent. The coffee is also very, very good. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. They greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. They checked on us regularly and refilled our drinks without being intrusive. The atmosphere was brilliant. The pub had a cozy and rustic charm, with wooden beams, fireplaces, and candles/lights. The music was pleasant and not too loud, creating a relaxing mood (though this weird Jazz track came on that made me want to boogie.) The pub was busy but not crowded, and we had a comfortable table in a quiet area. We would highly recommend the Swan Pub in Warrington to anyone looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a meal with friends or family. It is one of the best pubs I have ever been to and has been a part of Warrington for as long as I can remember (and my Social Security number is 1), and we will definitely go back there soon.
Visited here twice and both times have found The Swan to be a lovely place to eat. The service is welcoming and food has all been so good. I highly recommend this place and the cheesecake is incredible. Already looking forward to my next meal here.
