Jordan was really welcoming. Beer was cold and crisp. Slight tech detail with order meant starter for daughter was wrong but all in all not bad an enjoyed the chicken wings. Staff can’t do enough for you.
Fabulous food including delicious puddings. Good value. Good range of real ale. Lovely staff, nice decor and ambience despite there being very few other customers. Toilets spotless, plenty of parking. Would definitely go again.
From start to finish it has felt like we’ve put the staff out, whilst they huff and puff around us. Missing things from our orders. Bringing food, no cutlery or napkins for ages and had to ask for it. Brought sauces out once we’d finished the food. Roast dinner- fatty beef, frozen potatoes deep fat fried- more crunch and air than potato, the parsnips were the size of a baby’s finger, burnt and dry and Luke warm! Had we not been out all day and hungry, we’d have left.
I have been a regular customer to this pub for about almost a year now, since I had moved to work in the UK as our offices are based not far from this establishment. The location is pretty nice with a charming decor giving a warm welcoming atmosphere, namely with a indoor open chimney - perfect for the gloomy cold winter days. Not to forget the quite large terrace space the pub offers, perfect to enjoy a lunch outside when the sun deems to shine (the simple pleasure of life am I right ?) The staff with their attentiveness helpfulness and welcomeness also contribute greatly to the overall good atmosphere. Indeed they always welcome us with smiles and manage to get à is a table despite never booking in advance. Also by now, the staff knows most of our go to order. Now the piece se resistance : the food. Well it is your usual pub food. No fancy twist, just the classic dishes well prepared. See attached photo for yourself.A good value for money, particularly with the lunch set menu and the day to day special offers. Overall a well deserved 5-stars review. And I would have added an extra star if it was possible for this one time in winter when the car’s battery would not start because of the cold weather. So we sought shelter in the pub while waiting for the bus, and discussing about the situation with Amy , the manager, she spontaneously offered to give us a lift back home while the pub was crowded in mid service, after helping us first to jump start the car with her cables. Forever grateful.
