Always pop in here for a drink when we visit Alnmouth. Cosy, warm and friendly for both humans and dogs!
Went for lunch twice over a two week period. Wasn't stating here so cannot comment on rooms. Service was excellent on both occasions, food was brilliant too (Amble Butcher's steak pie, fantastic in itself). We went to The Sun a few years ago and were underwhelmed; on these two visits we loved it and will definitely make this our lunch destination when in Alnmouth. Dog friendly too. Brilliant! The folk at The Sun, you're doing everything right!
Lovely cosy spot for lunch after a walk on the beach. Friendly and efficient staff and excellent local lobster salad - we’ll be back!
We’d been here previously and been looked after by Kirsty (who we are delighted is still here). We stopped by for lunch this year (previously rooms have been super comfortable for our family of 4 and very clean, so I know that as Kirsty still looks after things, it will still be perfect). The menu was really varied, very generous portions and delicious food. We had an amazing ploughman’s, bread board, tacos of the day and it was all delicious. The staff are working really hard to get it where it used to be and they were super welcoming and efficient. Thank you!
Lovely place to drink. Have a small selection (but well kept) real ale. Had the dog with me. No problem. Like a lot of places on the Northumberland coast, very dig welcoming. Will be stopping in Alnmouth again..
