About us

We have a well thought out wine list and a number of wines by the glass. Outside of the pub we have a beautiful enclosed mediterranean style garden with an olive tree, lavender bushes and our wood fired pizza oven at the rear of the pub and also seating at the front over looking our pretty village.

Aptly named 'The Dog' we of course are extremely dog friendly allowing dogs both in the bar and restaurant. Children are welcome also in the restaurant.

Our menu is based upon seasonal British and Suffolk produce. Have a look at our menus to see our food offerings. We have special themed nights from Tuesday -Friday and also offer an excellent value set lunch menu from Tuesday - Saturday. Sunday lunch we have a special Sunday menu with a focus on family dining and roast lunches.

Very warm welcome from entering, customer service was outstanding (Amy to be precise was exceptional at her job and so helpful and friendly) The wine was great, and the food no words can explain how tasty the food was, me and my partner are big foodies and appreciate local cuisine and this was up there as one of the best restaurants if not the best in Suffolk so far. A last thanks again to Amy going out of her way to make a mulled wine even though they didn't sell it she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Beautiful place, we highly recommend it and we'll definitely be visiting again soon👌

It's a shame that this one time "proper" pub has become more like a restaurant with tables booked in both the restaurant and main bar areas. So if you just want a couple of drinks then you may well be standing. Staff are very friendly though.

Great pub and restaurant is done out lovely. Great food (my prawn starter sauce was gorgeous but the prawns not much to write home about which is why 4 stars for food) but my husbands dhal starter , wild boar sausages main and my burger amazing. The service was the best we've experienced in a very long time!! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back for a Sunday roast ...

What a fantastic, foodie village pub. Great vibe outside on a warm Summer's evening, before moving into the restaurant for what turned out to be a thoroughly delicious three course meal. The whipped feta and cauliflower dahl starters were packed with flavour. The pork tenderloin katsu and Middle Eastern venison shoulder were tremendous. And the sticky toffee pudding was top drawer. The cherry on top was quite how dog friendly they are. Our (often nervous) dog Maggie was made to feel so welcome, from the multiple water bowls around the place to the team going out of their way to put us at the table she'd be most comfortable. Made such a difference to the whole experience.

Stopped here for a spot of dinner one Saturday afternoon in September. Pub was fairly quiet and although we hadn't booked, they had a table free in the restaurant (though it was early). Food was tasty, good portion sizes and well presented. Staff very friendly and the service was quick. Reasonably sized car park at the rear and small outdoor area with a few tables and a small play area with slides to keep kids happy. Plus a few tables out the front.
