About us

Originally only licensed as a beerhouse, the pub got its full license on March 2nd 1960. The building dates from the late 16th or early 17th century, with 19th century alterations. It was originally a group of four cottages, but was converted into a pub to replace the White Horse, which stood over the road. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolkcamra.co.uk/pubs/pub/345.

This lovely pub managed to fit us in for a last minute booking (17 of us!). The food was delicious, everyone was served all together and it was all piping hot. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Nice traditional pub, great choice of food, prompt serving, helpful staff. Very good cook who happily explained how he's made my liver dish so tender and tasty! Loved it all, definitely going back!
