Really lovely and friendly hotel/pub. We were there couple of times over the Christmas period and the staff and locals were so friendly, we felt as if we were in our own local. We really will drink here again when we return to Melrose.

Extremely underrated food even by the locals. The food was excellent! We had soup of the day and a breaded haddock with chips and the food was prepared to perfection. The service was perfect and warm. Run by two amazing ladies, of we are ever in Melrose again, this is where we will eat.
Liked it a pleasant, friendly pub in a small town called Melrose, which is in the Scottish Borders. Only had time for 1 drink, but a pint of Belhaven 80 shilling was a very nice way to end what had been a great day's walking. I must admit that I had not seen the 80 shilling before. A very drinkable and pleasant ale. 🍺 A very enjoyable visit to an area of which I am very fond. As I am part Scottish and my roots go back to an even smaller town called Earlston, which is not far from Melrose. So it is always good to be in Scotland. Although it was a bit annoying to have just missed the annual local 7 a side rugby-union tournament. Maybe next year.
So we stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. All the staff were polite friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were very clean and tidy with all the mod cons you would need. The food was excellent too. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be coming again. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
