We popped in for dinner mid week. The place was fairly quiet but soon started to fill up with other diners. We were so lucky to grab a table right in front of the fire as it was freezing outside. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. The menu is filled with pub classics and I was so surprised by the quality of my meal. I had the half chicken with chips and gravy. It hit every spot that I needed it to. The chicken was tasty and juicy, the chips crispy, crunchy and hot. Gravy was immense. Really like it here. Great place during the Summer and the Winter.
Very helpful staff. The detail at our table was appreciated for example name labels at seats , nice touch. Great location overlooking the river. The chefs went beyond expectations providing a lovely steak for my grandson which was NOT on the menu , thank you .
The food was really good and well presented. The whipped goats cheese starter and the pork belly for main course were both delicious. The generous piece of crackling was perfectly cooked. Finished with a sticky toffee pudding and stern ginger ice cream. Lovely setting by the river with plenty of space. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again.
