In recent years the décor, the menus and the wine lists have all been revamped bringing this lovely 17th Century inn bang up to date. And our south-facing terrace and gardens are equally as fabulous.

We stopped off on this pub for some food after a walk ending in Hurst Green. We are vegans and were pleasantly surprised by some tasty options... including a falafel wrap. Atmosphere great, with wooden beam ceilings & friendly efficient staff.
We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast break and despite them saying a dinner reservation was booked, in reality there was no reservation. The pillows were rather flat and uncomfortable and the carpets were looking worn and patches were threadbare. As for the drinks, they had no hot chocolate, no fruit teas which was listed as a choice on the breakfast menu and no cocktails. The food was served on the smallest of tables which were unstable and with the crockery being rather large, it made the dining experience rather awkward. The best I could give this property is 6/10.
Our first visit and what a great night! Bar staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. We had a choice of tables near the bar area. Food was beautiful. I had the Ribeye, which was done to perfection and my wife had the Chicken. Everything was packed with flavour and the service was a great balance of being aware, without pestering. We're planning on going back again for a nice treat.
Just been to a wedding here over the weekend. Brilliant venue and such a lovely setting! The wedding hosts were great and the function room was brilliant. Bar staff were very busy as you can imagine but were great also. The rooms were plenty big enough and very clean. We had breakfast the next morning which was good, choice of cooked breakfast or cereal with tea and coffee or juice. Great time had by all and would recommend for any function.
Stayed here for one night and wished I could have stayed longer. Lovely room with a view, lovely meal in the bar and breakfast was great. Excellent value for money. It was nice to stay somewhere with lots of character and a real nice feel about the place. ,y partner usually moans about something but he loved it. We will definitely be back! 😊
