About us

The Salutation has plenty of history, being one of the oldest former coaching inns of Doncaster. The Salutation, affectionately known as the ‘Sal’ serves a great selection of cast ales, beers and lagers, along with a new quality wine list. Also a great variation of malt whiskies and gins, completed by the premium tonic Fever Tree.

Lovely place for a drink especially outside in the summer. Usually a singer or a band on, who're normally well worth watching. There's a very large seating area outside and patio heaters when the sun's gone down. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Nar well staffed and stocked toilets small for the size of the pub but they're clean and there's usually enough soap and loo roll. I enjoyed the time we were there.

Had a lovely Saturday evening meal, really welcoming, food placed attractively and tasted pretty good. A flight of stairs to access. Considering the liveliness in the pub downstairs, it was quiet in the restaurant

Looking for a new food experience in the Doncaster area? Then check out Thai at the Salutation! Located upstairs in this classic British pub on South Parade, Thai at the Salutation is a lovely relaxed dining experience in a tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff are warm and welcoming, and are happy to help however they can. The menu has plenty of options for most diners, from those experienced with Thai cuisine to absolute novices, so there should be something to suit everyone’s taste and wallet. Dishes are generously portioned, even if they don’t appear to be so at first glance - the food is rich and filling, flavourful and delicious! We just about managed starters and mains, though were getting quite full towards the end of mains! Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, and we definitely look forward to dining with Thai at the Salutation in future.

Review: The Salutation Thai Restaurant Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ My recent visit to The Salutation Thai Restaurant was a delightful culinary journey that showcased the best of Thai cuisine. With its attentive service, inviting ambiance, and sumptuous dishes, this restaurant left a lasting impression. The extensive menu offered a diverse selection of authentic Thai dishes, each bursting with the vibrant and nuanced flavours that define Thai cuisine. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented, reflecting the skill and passion that goes into each dish. One of the most striking aspects of my visit was the restaurant's welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Situated upstairs, the restaurant has a warm and cosy feel, while the option to order and dine in the courtyard during warmer months adds a delightful alfresco element to the dining experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from the moment we walked in. Their warm welcome and attentive service significantly enhanced the overall experience, making us feel truly valued as guests. The Salutation Thai Restaurant truly embodies the heart and soul of Thai cuisine and culture, making it a must-visit for any food lover. The minor drawback is that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, but this is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. Already, we're planning our next visit, eager to explore more of the tantalising dishes on offer. The Salutation Thai Restaurant earns a well-deserved 4-star rating for its exemplary service, delightful ambiance, and exceptional cuisine.

Three of us went here for a pint, Baileys and wine. We all received a great drink and enjoyed the British Pub along with great company. We had heard this was a ‘rough’ area, but did not find any problems. The street was under construction, but we did find parking. We will not be in the area any time soon, but had a great time.
