Im a big fan of the independent micropub concept. Found this one to be a cosy place in nice setting and with outdoor seating, in the main Kelso square. Food choices yummy but limited, and a decent pint to wash it down! Will happily return.
Rutherford Pub, the first verified micro pub in Scotland which opened in 2015. good range of beers (cask, bottle, can) and variety of spirits and soft drinks such as tea & coffee. Beers included Highlander and Rapture. A limited amount of food is available such as cheese board, nuts & pastries. As a micro pub seating is limited however plenty of seats are available outside (weather permitting). Overall, nice place to visit and try new drinks but limited if you are looking for more common drinks.
Class. Little gem hidden in the heart of Kelso. Whether it's a random Wednesday and some locals turn up with instruments or it's a boiling hot Saturday afternoon and you need to wet your whistle, you are guaranteed a good time if Luke, Ange or Paul are about! Recently added some cracking food and bar snacks to their repertoire so it's your one stop shop for GREAT Real Ale, some blinding bottled Lagers or some sumptuous red and white wines. Keep it up guys, best boozer in Kelso!
Nice small pub, visited by both locals and tourists. Three local beers on tap and a wide range of other drinks served with crisps. Some other snacks are available as well.
A very pleasant early evening drink in the outdoor seating area on a warm summers evening. Plenty of scope for people watching in Kelso's main square which is well maintained (hanging baskets, bunting, litter picking on a Sunday morning etc.) by the community council I think. It is described as a micropub and truly there isn't much room inside, but still appears to be busy throughout the day. £11.55 for two candyfloss gins (served in goblets), a can of Schweppes lemonade and one Schweppes Indian tonic water. No company affiliation unfortunately.
