I always enjoy time in here Staff friendly , helpful , service with a smile nothing too much for them if you ask for something Excellent landlord Chris always has a quick chat and a smile for every one Quiz nights on Thursdays Entertainment on Saturdays Karaoke on a Fridays Pool free on Tuesdays on selected times Dart board and plenty of tvs for all sports Always clean and warm too especially with the weather lately And plenty of laughter with everyone

Hard one to judge but a party of us arrived before lunch ( served at 12 ). The beers were fantastic. The service likewise. Even the Chef spoke with us. My burger was kinda average but still nice. We had put the guys on the spot and they opened early for us. An extra star for that in the circumstances. Good location though for all visitors to local grounds and Chorlton in particular.

Went there for a few drinks and lunch before a football match with a few fellow supporters. Plenty of seating in a nicely designed spacious place. A great selection of beers and ciders was on tap. The manager/owner(?) was a super nice guy and even opened the kitchen early so we wouldn't be in a rush to eat and make it to the game. The food was excellent and not expensive. The special lunch menu is an absolute bargain. We'll definitely be back when we play again in that area.

“Steak”n ale pie. Should be renamed gristle and slime pie. Pastry was ok but rest. Inedible. Frozen tasteless chips and plastic broccoli which again was clearly frozen. Yes it’s cheap but it’s very nasty. Worth spending a few bob more for decent quality. Avoid if you like edible food.

Possibly my first visit since 1976. For many years this was a Fizz only pub. Paulicarus thinks it was a Whitbread pub back in the day. Popped in as it is now a Greene King pub with a Casque Mark. Oddly only two real ales but 4 real ciders from Lilley's. Greene King IPA or Golden Hen..Paulicarus chose the later. Very good pint. It is a large traditional pub totally opened up around the central bar. I remember the old multi room pub. Bright and airey with piped music, TV's and pool tables to the rear. Typical Greene King menu. Always good value.
