The Cocktail Bar and Lounge is the perfect setting for an informal lunch or cocktail in a relaxed setting, where you can enjoy our fresh dishes made daily. The Lounge also serves an array of fabulous tea and coffee along with homemade cakes and treats. A delicious breakfast is served everyday from 9.30am until 11.30am every day of the week.
Our resident mixologist has created a variety of signature drinks, along with old school classics, contemporary twists and new found favourites.
An array of freshly prepared lite bites and platters are available in the bar daily, perfect for sharing with your friends whilst enjoying a cocktail.
Serving classic British and international a la carte dishes with a modern twist using fresh, seasonal, local products. With period décor, including extensive cornice work, the restaurant provides a wonderful dining experience with superb views across the Thames - including the world famous pier.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT Had my mums 82nd birthday meal here on Sunday and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better venue. There were 18 of us and the staff who looked after us were fantastic, I unfortunately lost the piece of paper I had with their names on but I know the manager is called Rikki-Lee. She was so professional and made sure everything ran so smoothly, we all had our food served at the same time and there were no problems with anything. The young lady with her was so lovely and nothing was too much. They both really went above and beyond. Our compliments to the chef also as the food and presentation were amazing. Looking forward to coming here again when we next visit my mum.
I visited Southend for Christmas staying nearby The Royal Hotel, which I visited the Saturday before Christmas, the service was incredible, the girls behind the bar were very accommodating even mixing me up my own cocktail! I had a Turkey and Cranberry Sandwich, which was delicious and enjoyed myself so much I returned Christmas Day to another warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Royal Hotel was an unplanned destination on my trip but I plan to return as it was the highlight of Christmas!
Enjoyed a Christmas dinner here. I had the set vegan menu. The starter was perfect. The main and dessert were okay. It was really great to actually have options for vegan food. Staff were attentive and nice. It felt a bit crammed but I was fine even though I normally don't like crowded places like that - so it wasn't too bad. I would recommend. Not wheelchair accessible unfortunately.
Dinner for 4, wonderful presentation, ample portions, delicate flavours. 2 had sticky Lamb, 1 had festive Turkey and I had Aged Belly of Pork a favourite wherever we go, Camembert starter was epic served with toasted Bruschetta and a chutney, well worth a visit, pricey but nicey 😁
Beautiful building showing off its original features and to muse at the seaside outside the window while having a drink 🍻 though I nearly had a heart attack when the barman said my pint of 4% Orchard cider was £7.50! The toilet hallway is very narrow, so give yourself extra time to allow people to pass

The Naval & Military Club is set on the cliff top opposite Southend Cliff Lift & a short walk from buses & trains. Open to everyone, it's a friendly and welcoming club with lots of entertainment, great food & incredible bar choices to suit all.
