A nice little venue but a shadow of its former self. They do have some good acts on now and then but it's a lot of tribute acts, some by the way are fantastic. Prices are fairly high same as most places to drink out nowadays. Nights out there are good have to admit
I have been going to The Robin for years, but haven't gone since lockdown. This place had always been a bit run down but was always great value for money. The new owner has transformed this place and it shows where the money has been spent. The staff were friendly and efficient and security was perfect keeping everyone safe. 10 out of 10 for great customer experience. The overall atmosphere hasn't changed, it is still a cauldron of hot energy at gas mark 9 and this is how concerts should be. The selection of drinks was on point and cheap compared to other venues. All in all an absolute blast of a night, that was really cheap with the most fabulous 8 piece SUPERSKAS leading the charge. The PA is perfect although the guys on the mixing desk may need to hone their skills, but that's live music for you and I probably couldn't do much better. The lighting and backdrop is much improved from the previous owner. If you haven't been to the Robin yet, then get yourself there. If you catch the right band on the right night, you will not be disappointed. Overall, highly recommended. Top marks for cheap entertainment at its best.
The Goldmine of the Black Country! A great venue for seeing up and coming musicians.I saw Joanne Shaw Taylor when she was still a teenager and before being discovered and now an international blues rock artist. Great tribute bands as well of high calibre.Last week saw an all time legend Terry Reid - absolute class act. An informal venue where you can feel relaxed and have a great evening.
Forget the sticky floor and the lack of seating, this is a dance venue & everyone dances. If you pick your times right you can get served at the bar with ease. We watched the specials ltd & what a fantastic night it was, everyone was up for a party .
Epic venue. I was roadie for keys for Karnataka. Tom the engineer was supportive and provided an exceptional sound. The venue is excellent. A fire alarm during the event was handled swiftly and effectively- top marks for safety. Highly recommended. Karnataka? Even more highly recommended!
