About us

From lively rugby crowds on a Saturday through to the plates piled with pink West Country beef on Sunday to quiet pints on a Monday, the Ring O bells sits in the heart of Widcombe. Locals prop up the bar, always happy to offer advice on the driest cider or hoppiest ale.

Menus are packed with locally sourced ingredients, forming delicious traditional meals with some modern twists. Work by local artists decorate bare stone walls, but if it’s a warm day make use of the sun-soaked beer garden surrounded by gorgeous flowers and Bath stone.

This long established people and dog friendly pub promises a buzzy atmosphere on any day of the week.

Friendly pub with a good selection of real ales (if unambitious, with Bass, Timothy Taylor Landlord and one other "standard bitter" I forget. Maybe Tribute most recently when I went in), lagers and wines. It used to be really gastro only, but under new ownership it's become a proper pub again, with atmosphere and a better focus on drinks! I've not had the food so I can't comment; I've heard it's still good though! How could it be better? Add some smaller breweries to the selection of big brand ales, and perhaps some more modern beer styles. A good pale ale would go a long way! Something from Oakham, Vibrant Forest, Electric Bear, Arbor? Also great atmosphere on Rugby Day - very popular!

Have been here a couple of times now and have always had an enjoyable pint in a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. They sell my favourite ale (Tribute) on tap so it's always going to be a favourite of mine. Didn't have any food, but tables near me did and I often heard comments of how well it tasted. Not too far from the city centre. Great staff and dog friendly.

Great local pub with a variety of characters drinking there, the service was good and friendly. The food looks great though I was only there for a drink which was a good selection to choose from. The pub is spread over 2 floors with only small toilets on the 2nd floor, although the rear access comes in at 2nd floor as pub is set into a hillside. Lovely secret garden at the back too with plenty of seating.

Ring Of Bell's Pub The Ring of Bell's Pub is an absolute gem of a spot. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the drinks menu is well-curated and delicious. The real Ales are awesome! But what really sets the Ring of Bell's apart is its food menu. The pub grub is hearty and satisfying, with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients and traditional pub favourites. The fish and chips are particularly noteworthy, with perfectly crispy batter and tender fish. Overall, the Ring of Bell's is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great meal and a pint in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The food was delicious. One of the waitresses in particular was really nice and helpful.
