Decent pub, but in the words of the staff very much a 'boozer' as they don't do hot drinks such as coffee and tea. So I had orange juice, which was nice but equal parts juice to Chunky ice cubes, so didn't last me very long. In the ladies toilets they have sprays and deodorants for you to use, but in these times I don't trust touching them. Lovely idea though! It had football on a big screen too, and lots of clocks on the wall for decoration. Also spotted a pool table and darts board.
Wonderful pub, the best in Belper town center. Very welcoming and professional staff greeted us and the pub had fantastic safety measures for Covid. Excellent seating, choice of beers and has a great friendly atmosphere. So much better than all the other pubs. Great place will definitely be going back.
Rifleman's Arms is a nice-enough traditional pub in the "centre" of Belper, Derbyshire. Unfortunately, the area is full of other, much more interesting places (trad, craft & bars), so at least for the real ale enthusiast, there's no real reason to go there. 4 hand pumps were available upon my visit: two were occupied by the dreaded Marston Pedigree, one was empty, and the fourth featured an undistinguished low-ABV golden ale called "Falstaff 3Faze" - or something like that. I chose a 1/2 pint of the latter - it was warm. I had asked the woman behind the bar about it before I ordered, she said she knew nothing about it since she didn't drink beer. That's always helpful.... Anyway, as such the pub itself is tidy and comfy, more of a typical small community boozer. Prices are moderate. But Belper has so much better to offer ....
Very nice pub and excellent staff landlady and landlord - Carling lager spot on! Sky Sports what more could you ask of a local pub? 5 stars from me!
Great local boozer with really friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
