Food was very good with the added bonus of some decent beers at a very reasonable price. Staff were very polite. Enjoyable experience.
Just 5 minutes off the A40 this is a little gem of a place. Unassuming from the outside but spacious once through the door, with a friendly atmosphere. A lovely home cooked menu and a number of specials, we weren’t short of options. My wife’s light bite sandwich was bigger than my burger (much to me envy) and we both hugely enjoyed our food. Don’t settle for roadside disappointment, instead seek out little places like this.
We live 80 miles away from the Red Lion in Llangynidr, but love going there when we can. Always a warm reception from the staff and locals. A great, down to earth pub, with lovely food, and a good pint. On the doorstep of the beautiful Mon & Brec Canal, and of course the stunning countryside. Went there 5:30 last Wednesday, on a warm, sunny evening. The place was buzzing. Every table was Reserved, apart from one, which we were grateful to get.
We had a delicious Sunday lunch and dessert. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. It's a dog friendly pub as well. We would definitely go back and recommend it to friends and family.
Family if 5 Sunday dinner, proper veg not frozen and watery. Portion size spot on if having dessert or starters. Beef was tasty, as was lamb, Yorkshire puddings very good. Service was swift, relaxed atmosphere, think we landed lucky on day as weather overcast though not raining, this pub was packed on bank Holiday, so book well ahead. Finished off with some pool and darts to end the day.
