Nice staff, good pub grub and nice clean rooms. Can only give 2 stars as we wanted breakfast but on arrival at the booked time, there were no staff and the main building was still locked. Had to leave and go elsewhere.
We don't expect frills, it's a pub. But it's clean, friendly, and happy with dogs. We visit Ely regularly and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
We did not stay in there rooms , we visited my son who has just moved down the road from this lovely village pub. Decided to check it out have a few drinks and a bite to eat. We really enjoyed it , food was lovely , service was friendly and quick. Would deffo recommend to passers to stop for a drink and food. 👍
I stayed for luckily one short night. The room was slightly depressing with a broken shower head and a kettle from the 90s with rust init. They wouldn't serve breakfast before 8.30am, which meant I had to buy elsewhere due to work commitments. The bed was basic and not very comfortable. Based somewhere between here and nowhere, it's fair to say it's not on my list of up and coming holiday destinations.
Stayed here for 2 nights for work, the staff were all welcome and friendly, as there isn't much in the village we also ate / drank in the pub after work, the food was good quality especially the lasagne. The rooms were dated and could have done with a touch of paint and a bit more cleaning, the en suite was clean and the shower worked well. Would stay there again
