Welcome to the Red Deer which is located in Crediton, next door to Tesco and just a short distance from Exeter. We offer a wide range of draught products including various local ciders and a fantastic ale range to compliment our fantastic pub food menu which offers a great choice of classics with a constantly changing selection of over 20 specials. What’s more, all of our menu main courses & specials are all Two for One! We welcome families and have indoor and outdoor children’s play facilities. We have also introduced some weekly events so whether it be a quiz, charity nights or other, they are all creating a great atmosphere for all to enjoy. Really good. Great choice on the menu especially for vegetarians. My wife loved the pie. Good choice of beer lager. Peroni on tap. Bliss. One tiny tiny thing. Mac cheese ... you need to grill the topping. Bit disappointed on that meal but everything else good. We had speaker next to table which played irritating music
Visted for a friends birthday lunch. The food was nice. Unfortunately two of the meals from the grill had to be returned and be redone, which the front of house team dealt with promptly and were really good about it, but it meant that we didn't all eat at the same time. Which I understand happens, but in fairness serving hot food shouldn't be an issue. Sherry Trifle cheesecake made everything better though haha!
Xmas meal was excellent. Real turkey, not plastic pre-formed like we had with previous owners. Lots of lovely veg and the roast potatoes were fluffy inside. Perfect. The manager is a lovely chap. We have come to know him and regard him as a friend. All in all the best Xmas dinner we have ever had when eating out. Keep up the good work!
What a lovely pub, staff so helpful and polite, the food was amazing I had Hunters Chicken with a twist the chicken breast was southern fried so had a great crunch to it. The other was a mixed grill large, also enjoyed not by me of course lol.
Had a really lovely meal this evening. Steak was delicious and all the staff were super helpful and recommended the skinny steak and jacket potato.
