We went on boxing day at 5 pm. Food was appalling. We sent food back, and they just put it in the microwave. Didn't eat any of it, so we refused to pay. There were only 5 tables occupied so it was not busy. 3 young children were running around and parents were not controlling them . We never go out on Boxing day to eat, thought it would be a treat as it was just my husband and I. Will not be going back. Sorry, Queens Head.
Visited this establishment for our works Christmas get together. Good atmosphere, nice staff but the service was slow. We arrived for 7pm as meal was 7.30 and started getting desserts about 9.40pm. Food was ok but we experienced missing components to our meals and a crumble with no crumble.
For some reason this pub has gone down hill. I have visited here 3 times in the last 7 weeks. Every time so short of staff, terrible mistakes on order, most staff just ignore remarks. Yesterday went for Christmas lunch told we could not have it no stock. Online there Christmas menu went live yesterday. Cold food, very small portions of vegetables, missing meringue on Eton mess, ice cream sundae had tiniest bit of squinty cream. Came to paying, was over charged on drinks and £30 deposit not taken off, good job I noticed. Poor server had to listen to my comments. He said he would tell the manager when he comes down. Was asked to give them another chance in new year, ring when booking and tell them we had a had experience , then they would make sure next experience went well. Did not feel valued no greeting, no good byes. Terrible experience.
Three friends and I attended this establishment last night without a booking, this wasn't a problem, they found us a table no problem, food was excellent, service was polite, friendly and efficient. The cost was pretty good as well. My friends enjoyed the three course for £15, I don't have pudding but the starter and main was superb. I would recommended this friendly nice pub to anyone.
I ordered via Deliveroo their Sunday Duo and they didn’t include roast potatoes, broccoli and a separate pot of gravy. They drizzled gravy into the Yorkshire and it was soggy. Most of the meal consisted of vegetables and meats. Absolutely disgusting takeaway again after being given another chance they didn’t follow instructions. I asked for no custard, cream and just plain pudding. The custard was absolutely disgusting and watered down. I couldn’t eat it. I ordered their lamb and it was uncooked with so much fat inside, literally heart disease vibes. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy, avoid this place and find somewhere else!
