I visit the Queen Victoria restraunt twice a week, and have done for a few years. Every Mon/Tues lunchtime I fetch a young lady with special needs in for her lunch. Although she always has the same meal every visit, it's always good well presented and hot All the staff know us, however I feel one member of staff inparticular always takes time to acknowledge us in a welcoming and friendly way. Nothing is too much trouble for EMILY, and I would like to thank her personally and also on behalf of my client who is non verbal. Emily is a credit to your team.
Very impressed with the queen Victoria brewers fayre. I went with my wife and two of our sons for breakfast. Value for money is incredible, the boys are for free and cost £17.98 for me to have unlimited cooked breakfast and wife went for the continental one, including drinks. The food was really good, and there were even mushrooms to choose from. Really pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very helpful. Nice restaurant and will go again in summer to eat outside next to the canal. Our only minor disappointment was the toilets, they need a few quid spending on them to smarten them up and needed a deep clean. Overall recommended highly for value, setting and quality. Will be visiting again very soon
It was relatively quiet for a Saturday night, we decided to go somewhere the kids could eat and play, it also makes the adult dining experience much more pleasant when the children are entertained. We arrived at about 5pm. There was a free car park out the front, entered the restaurant to 2 friendly staff members who greeted us and asked if we had reserved (we had) took us to our table right away, the staff member asked about allergies (none). Tables were clean and well stocked with enough menus for everyone, I took the orders from the family and ordered them at the bar, again asked about any allergies, which is good to see that it's taken seriously. We had an offer so for every adult meal a child ate for free, we had 3 adult meals and 3 children's meals, with drinks it cost £52 which is great value. I paid for the 3 children to go in the soft play area, which is suitable for up to 10 years old that cost £13.50 for all 3. The kids played whilst we waited for the food, which came quickly and was lovely. Kids got 3 courses and we had starters and mains, too full for dessert. We stayed about 2 hours in total. The only downside was the restrooms which needed a very good clean 😔 that's why it didn't get full 5 stars. I can't say it was very busy and it wasn't the end of the night so no excuse for dirty facilities. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and professional.
Very disappointed with our visit today. The lasagne was not presented well. Looked like it was in a breakfast bowl, very burnt round the edges and down the bowl. Lettuce was that dry it crumbled like dry flowers do. I complained and got presented with a 2nd one much to disappointed it was again burnt and some of the Lettuce showed signs of age. However the lasagne tasted good. Not sure what they was originally prepared in but they no longer provide the individual lasagne dishes that they used to do.
Nice place, foods nice, staff are polite. Also booked there for my daughters 7th Birthday, her & her friends had a great time in the play area & really loved the food the drinks, the facepainting & the party activities the very lovely enthusiastic young lady did with them, literally everyone had a great time & my daughter was overwhelmed with happiness saying it was the best birthday party ever, I can't post pics of the party area because it's got all the children in those pics but I highly recommend.
