Best vegetarian menu at a pub I have come across. Staff very friendly, atmosphere cozy. Great music as well.
This pub has a very friendly team of staff, but whoever is in charge of the menu's portion sizes needs some reflection time. The burgers and fries genuinely look like kids meals. The quantity of mushy peas provided with the fish and chips was less than the tartar sauce. But most staggering of all, the chips were essentially jacketless potatoes, so big that you had to carve your way through them like a rump steak. Some good laughs as a result of the above, in a nice layout of a pub, but not one I'll be recommending.
Historic little pub with great atmosphere inside. Mixer between people eating and just drinking. Not too many tables. Good selection of lagers available and priced as you would expect for the centre of London. Sunday dinners looked very nice.
Best pub fish and chips I've ever eaten. Batter was crispy, fish was soft. The battery didn't once go soggy. Chips were like proper home chopped and cooked chips. Didn't leave feeling heavy, left feeling satisfied. It was just delicious. The manager was so friendly and it really swayed us to eat here. I'm glad we did. I'd highly highly recccomend. Came on a Saturday and we sat out the back and were the only ones in here. The front of the pub was busy and buzzing with atmosphere. All round brilliant pub lunch if that's what your after.
We were wondering past, saw this and it looked tiny - it opens out when you get in. Had a nice pint while the wife tasted some of the gin (they have a few!) It has a lot of character, and it had a nice atmosphere - could have stayed all day!!
