I was visiting Glenfinnan to photograph a wedding the following day. Had a really lovely warm welcome & a great nights sleep at this cosy hotel in a picture perfect location. It was a last minute booking & I was arriving late - staff were really helpful and friendly over the phone and in person. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Good size carpark across the road.
Got a super friendly reception from one of the owners, who is interested in all her guests and incredibly helpful. The rooms are so cozy and clean, you'll feel right at home. And the food deserves a review of its own. In one word; INCREDIBLE. Out of everything we've eaten in all of Scotland, this dinner was the best. The fish was super tasteful, the steak amazing and well cooked. If you are ever staying in Glenfinnan, stay here. If you're only passing through, eat here. You won't want to miss it.
The food was indescribably good. The warm lentil salad is not to be missed. The restaurant was cozy and and felt a little like visiting a favorite Aunt or Grandma's for dinner except they were playing deep cuts from bands like Roxy Music, Joe Jackson and The English Beat. An unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable accompaniment to a perfect meal.
Comfortable rooms and exceptional service. Breakfast is included with your stay and is delicious. We had dinner and breakfast 2x and was great. It is located just 100 meters from the Glenfinnan Station with very accessible hiking trails to the Viaduct.
Gracious staff, amazing food and wine list as well as whisky selection, attention to the small details made this stay wonderful. It is a small hotel with the staff wearing multiple hats so pay attention to breakfast/bar and bistro times so you can make appropriate arrangements if needed. We were on foot which worked for us, if you require transportation please make arrangements in advance with a car service or otherwise to avoid difficulties. Very comfortable rooms and beds and just steps from the train station in a nice quiet location. I highly recommend it and we will be back on a future visit!
