About us

Overall, there is a very pleasant contemporary air throughout the pub's various seating areas, which contrasts with the dark oak beams overhead. The pub re-opened in January 2018, under new management.

Great service, friendly.. Good variety of vegetarian food. All food and drinks ordered came together, excellent quality and size of portions. Clean toilets, good car parking. Probably could have done without the loud live group- we were not aware of this when we booked. However still had an enjoyable experience.

Staying nearby and not sure of where to eat on a Friday night so we popped in to the Pound Inn, based on other reviews, and what a find, a great menu of "home cooked" food, we never got past the pie page!! My wife opted for the Chicken and Leak, and I went down the vegetarian route, and the food was excellent, served by a young, but great front of house team, seamlessly coping with three large groups as well as other tables. So good we booked for Sunday lunch on the strength of this. Only wished we lived nearer, so we could visit more often.

This wonderful traditional pub serves great food in a warm and welcoming setting. It's been years since our last visit, which is a shame; we must visit more often. Roast meals were tasty and well presented. The deserts were equally deserving of praise. A great local venue.

We really enjoyed an excellent meal. The menu was extensive and varied. Prices have increased since our last visit (haven't every venue). It was a week day lunch time so was quiet hence not possible to rate atmosphere but I get impression it would be buzzing at weekends. Dog friendly and good level access to car park.

A really lovely pub. A very old, thatched building and sympathetically decorated inside. The bit by the "fire" is exceptionally cosy. Lovely beer garden to the rear, with a small area to keep small people entertained. Dogs allowed in the bar area and outside. Food was great and the prices were really good, especially in todays climate. We would definitely recommend.
