The Portwall Tavern which dates back to 1847, is situated at the edge of where the Old Portwall once stood. Redcliffe’s finest public house serving hearty grub with a lavish range of cask ales, wine, craft gins and hot and cold drinks.
We are proud to offer classic pub grub using fresh ingredients from our local suppliers. There is something on our menu for everyone, with the option to have a light bite or a main meal. We can cater for various sizes of bookings
During 2021 we managed to pivot our business in several ways, and are now continuing to promote our 'Portwall Veg Boxes' where you can build your own food boxes from a small choice of food items. We'll accept payment online or cash on delivery.

Due to demand they kindly opened early for us,(we were a stag party on a mission) One lady serving and she was excellent nobody was waiting.
In town for work and I've often noticed this place but hadn't been in. Really enjoyed a quiet pint at the end of the day in comfortable and welcoming surroundings. Will definitely be back.
I'd just arrived in Bristol with nowhere to sleep so I went to the nearest pub which was this Portwall Tavern. The blond barmaid was really nice and helpful showing me which way to go. It was a Monday so expected to be quiet. Smart pub but not posh. Oh also I was allowed to charge my phone. Afterwards I realized the name of the pub. Portwall must mean the delivery ships/boats used to come up this far .... Tables and chairs outside for smoking. Cool calm and collected area.
Bustling little pub with outside seating. Quick efficient service at the bar and food arrived in a reasonable time. My pulled pork ciabatta was very nice.
I really love this pub, it has become a place to relax after a long day - it’s easy to sink into their chairs facing the bar and enjoy the laugh and chatter of the bar staff. The drinks are well- priced, and the bar staff, greet each customer with such enthusiasm and cheerfulness that I can’t help but come back over and over! 5 stars 😁

The Colosseum has recently undergone redecoration and been painted to bring it more up to date. It has free WIFI and the pool tables are free on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
