Overall food is OK. We went for brunch and I asked for toast and butter for my young son. There was confusion among the staff because they "did it last time and got told off so not doing it again". The girl serving me went to ask the manager but they weren't in their office so I paid £7 for some plain pancakes (read plain as very dry). Note to the "manager", don't punish your staff for accommodating simple requests of paying customers, ease up on the dictatorship and more people will come back, but I won't. Also, the festive orange hot chocolate sounds lovely, it's not.
We were here for hubby's Christmas do 🍸🍾🎀. We had the festive party night menu at £40 pp (kindly paid for by employer) The food was hot, mostly well cooked (sprouts were almost raw) and served quickly. However, the menu choice was very poor. Choice of 2 starters, 2 mains (1 veggie and 1 meat choice for both courses) and no choice of dessert - Christmas pud, which A LOT of people left as 1, there was a 45 min delay in between mains and dessert and 2, lots of people simply don't like Christmas pud. The festive menu for the restaurant downstairs had a lot more choice. A nice night anyway
Popped in for cocktails on a whim. Beautiful Christmas tree and decorations, lovely fire that the staff kept going and proper cocktails (2 for £12). Excellent service too - they offered to bring our drinks to our table rather than us waiting at the bar.
On 27.10.22 we got married at this venue and can I just say it was everything I had ever dreamed of. We met with Gabriel Blackmore, the events manager, and gave him our ideas and visions. We had constant communication throughout the planning process and we felt so comfortable and catered for. Gabriel could not have done more for us, he made sure that any request was catered for within five minutes. We could have asked for a plane with our names on it flying across the venue and he would have done that for us. The staff at the venue were super friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing and high quality. We never had empty drinks. All I can say is that our wedding was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for any more it was just perfect. Thankyou so so much to the team at Pleased to Meet You Morpeth for having us and making sure that our night was unforgettable!!
Had a really enjoyable lunch with my husband - they made the simplest things like cauliflower soup magic, and the cabbage served with the roast pheasant so tasty & moreish! Could of done with a bit more sauce with the pheasant though, which was slightly dry. Dessert of plum & pear tart was really delicious - crumbly pastry, moist filling with juicy fruit! Service was good, staff attentive, so overall worth the service charge on the bill. We will definitely be back!
