My friend and I stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way back to Manchester after holidaying on the coast. The food was AMAZING. The dining room was lovely, with a big roaring fire in the fireplace. The service was absolutely beautiful. And the sticky toffee pudding was perfection. We both ate far too much but didn't regret a single morsel consumed.

Only went for Sunday lunch & it was absolutely amazing. Walked in without booking & they were busy but more than accommodating. Home made soup was root veg & chilli & it was delicious followed by roast lamb. Husband had belly pork & kids had chicken. Every plate was cleared. Dogs also welcome.

Amazing location, food and ambiance. Asked at very short notice if they had a table for two on a Saturday night . “No problem “they said and it didn’t disappoint . Mussels as a starter were plump and delicious , hake beautifully cooked with fresh samphire and more mussels. The dessert was to die for

Lovely meals - percy burger and steak, although on the pricier side. Steak came medium rather than med-rare but no quibbles, was still an excellent sirloin. Only slight against service was the dark haired waitress could have been a bit more pleasant in serving - smile love, it might not happen.

On the night we visited the team were very short handed which led to service being a little delayed. However they made great efforts and stayed in good humour and provided overall satisfactory service. The food, unfortunately, was average, at best. Two of our party, myself included, had fish that was undercooked. A third had the meat and potato pie, which was too salty, and the other three meals were unremarkable. Had they been fully staffed then perhaps the fish at least may not have been undercooked. All in all a dissapointing experience to end what had been a great week's holiday in Northumberland. We weren't staying in the hotel, we had only booked for a meal.
