The Pendle Inn is a well established country watering hole for many walkers, cyclists, groups and families who have enjoyed the local area and all it has to offer. Set in The Forest of Bowland, only 5 miles from the neighbouring towns of Burnley and Clitheroe, the village of Barley is perfect for those with outdoors in mind and plenty for the children to keep them entertained as well. The Pendle Inn is at the heart of the village with a selection of real ales and food to suit every appetite. We also welcome pets, so the whole family can enjoy themselves with us.
I've previously had good experiences here, but today, when my wife went in for a coffee she was followed into the toilet twice my a short large young lady to apparently check why my wife went in there, and whilst drinking her coffee in the bar area was unexplicably asked to quickly finish her coffee and leave. As English is not my wife's first language, she did not have the confidence to challenge her. I would like to know from management what this you lady's problem was, and what will be done about it.
Comfortable and welcoming pub. Well preserved original 1930s architectural features. No less than three roaring open fires when we visited! Beer in good condition. Recommended.
Food and service lovely as always. Lacks character in the conservatory compared to the rest of the pub (where we sat this time) and it was cold in there (January) bit otherwise highly recommended. Book a table by the fire. Portions really big. We didn't stay in the rooms, review reflects rooms in the pub.
I was one of a party of 17 today for lunch on New Years Day. The service and staff were fantastic. They’d obviously planned and managed the booking very well and were able to accommodate all the other patrons really well too. The food was fantastic and all arrived for all of us at the same time. Really very happy and impressed. Thank you very much indeed and Happy New Year. Will be back no doubt.
The best place in the area and the best food I've had in a long time. I had a few questions to pass on to the kitchen, they answered everything very well and sounded very knowledgeable. The decorations were excellent. So much effort went in for Halloween made the visit all the more special Would come again.
