Was amazing as you can see the food was sooo nice. Lovely stuff really enjoyed our night. And NOT over priced foe the food. We booked a table but there was no need to do so. Try it for yourself
We've only used the restaurant but the food and service are always very good. They are happy to accommodate my somewhat difficult food intolerances. The menu is varied offering food for all tastes and prices are very reasonable too.
Visited for a meal one afternoon. We were the only people in the place and we very nearly turned around and left, but we were seated and fed a beautiful meal. This place should be a lot busier than it is. Would recommend!!
A last minute choice - 95% of Lake District accommodation was fully booked meaning a stay further from the friends we were visiting in Keswick. Pros: - helpful, friendly staff on arrival, and throughout the stay. Cons: - On arrival given a double room instead of a family room. Family room not available as the key was missing: offered an additional room without hesitation or charge (see 'Pros' about the staff!) - Lots of fixtures and fitting broken in various rooms: light fitting in one room, shower in another. Very clean, but just niggly maintenance issues that should be easy to fix. - breakfast is pre-ordered. First day's breakfast was not good at all, generally badly cooked with items lukewarm. Second day's was better, except the eggs and beans (only) ordered for our vegetarian daughter arrived with bacon and sausages (which I ate!). Not the end of the world but just indicative of a general lack of attention to detail. Overall, the faults outweigh the positives. Cannot fault the staff though - really lovely people.
Our family of 8 walking the C2C stayed for one evening. I could tell the rooms have been/are in the process of being renovated/updated. Everything was clean. Spoke with the new owner and was impressed by his positive attitude and hard work. We enjoyed our food, especially breakfast.
