A traditional pub in the town centre, serving real ales and great food.
A long established town centre pub with an impressive frontage including stained glass and etched windows. It is much larger than it appears from the outside with a narrow but comfortable lounge leading to a conservatory area and out to a beer garden and smoking area. The pub has a community feel and the pool table attracts a regular trade. The bar dispenses 3 cask marque accredited real ales including the house-badged pale beer which is brewed by Caledonian. The other two handpumps have guests from the Theakstons range.
Karaokenis of plenty on a Sunday afternoon plenty of drinks to choose from and not a bad price either 😀
Brilliant little pub good night friendly ppl
Nice well kept beer and friendly staff providing good service. Karaoke can be a bit loud at times but good hearted clients just enjoying themselves.
Particularly rough but friendly also — felt like I was on holiday in the beer garden haha — and appreciated seeing Guinness alcohol free in a pint sized can
I didn't eat here so can't comment on food. The staff are super quick and super happy. The atmosphere is very much a locals pub where everyone knows each other. But, that doesn't mean they aren't welcoming to a new face. They are. This is not a posh or fancy place and I can imagine it gets quite lively later on but I love it and can't wait to return.
