Fabulous little village pub, it has a cosy fire in each room and Gill and Kevin are lovely to chat to
Pity the brewery have shut it again without notice. Why does this happen regularly in a small village.
Sam Smiths pub serving their own beers. No food served. There are 4 rooms, with a pool table in 1. Nice looking pub, perfect for a quiet beer-as no music played in Sam's pubs. Few tables out back, at side of a big car park. There's also a large grass area, perfect for kids to run around. Guy behind the bar was a bit grumpy when I asked for a top up of my Sovereign which had a massive head - for the first time in my life I was declined, as the pint would settle fine in a couple of minutes. Went away unhappy, and waited for pint to settle - fair play, it settled beautifully. Landlord knew his beer! And he was OK to talk to, despite first impressions. So, if he reads this-I hope you enjoyed your Sunday dinner.
Entertaining landlord and great value beers. Bernard's Old Brewery bitter is the best In the area
A decent stop on a bike ride. Plenty space for bikes at rear. Beer is cheap and hits the spot.
