Hello and welcome to The Old Silent Inn. We have recently taken over the Old Silent and gone through a major refurbishment, mostly behind the scenes which people would not be likely to see.
the kitchen all has all brand new equipment. pipework, rewiring and floor. The eight hotel rooms have been gutted and redecorated to luxury standard, new carpets and flooring in places. We have been working hard to bring establishment up to the high quality that our customer expect and every day sees improvement, bringing a bigger and better service too you.
Dire food, service and atmosphere; building absolutely freezing (radiators weren’t on and we could see our breath whilst sat at the table), service was extremely slow despite only five covers in the entire restaurant (it took almost an hour for mains to arrive and 15 minutes after ordering to be told that nut roast wasn’t available). Our food arrived cold with soggy Yorkshire puddings and had to be sent back to be reheated and was then returned with meat and roast potatoes partially removed. We were then overcharged in error for the food that wasn’t available.
We had a lovely meal here today, my husband and I are both vegan, we often struggle to find good option. The Old Silent offers the most options for vegans we have come cross, including specials. The vegan sausage and mash was absolutely delicious. For dessert we had a vegan apple pie with ice cream which was to die for. The man who looked after us was extremely pleasant and polite. The pub is warm and inviting with gorgeous views, a lovely half hour walk from Haworth. We will be back.
We called in for a steak pie meal and absolutely loved it. A beautiful homemade pie filled with tender steak, with lots of thick chips and a huge amount of peas. Plenty of free parking. We met 2 staff members and both are extremely friendly. We will definitely return. The roaring fire on a cold night was the perfect way to keep way to keep warm.
I stayed here for a night whilst travelling further north. This pub and its rooms was one of the best part of my entire trip. The place itself is super cute, the staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a great selection of food and drink. The room was super comfortable, cute and tidy. The bed was super comfortable. Overall is a place not to be missed. Highly recommended.
What a lovely pub. We had a wonderful meal, and drinks, the staff were friendly and helpful. I have a lovely gluten free meal. They even had a designated fryer for gluten free chips. The rest of the family had excellent food too. I would highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.
