The OGM has been lovingly renovated it took 9 months and opened in April 2022. Originally a historic coaching Inn and listed building it has been totally transformed and modernized to a contemporary cool whilst retaining the old-world charm. It’s the place to be with many offers such as the deli, pizza restaurant, fine food restaurant (Toms kitchen ) fab bar , wine cave , expansive external space including a glazed in area where the roof removes automatically in the better weather! external large patio area and 10 bedrooms to follow next year once refurbished.
My husband hosted my 30th surprise party at the Old Grey Mare on Saturday and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff were all so so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! We had the best time, the room was perfect and the pizzas were incredible! We really cannot fault them and we would recommend OGM to anyone :) Thankyou so much!
This is a unique pub. Dogs, children and nice people are very, very welcome here. If you don’t like dogs … or children come to that and you’re a pedantic, dull person… go somewhere else . This is a very well loved and supported meeting place. If you want average..stay at home. We LOVE it for its eccentricities ♥️
Used to be such a good pub when it first opened. Smells of dog, serves price marked cans and cleanliness is poor to say the least. These might sound petty but these are just a few things that make it a bit pants now. The people there treat it like an extension of their house so I wouldn't bother going any more. I'm gutted as was such a great place for a pint and a pizza with family and friends.
Had a great night there! Good drinks brilliant vibe. Big shout out to Tegan on the bar who was a pleasure. Great banter and gave us a good laugh!
Please do not use this venue for functions! This person has refused to refund my £100 deposit for my mum's wake, despite not fulfilling any of her promises. She has had no expense and so she has lost nothing. I paid £100 deposit for my mum's wake on Wednesday 26th October. The owner said she would work on the menu and get back to me by the end of Friday because she was busy on Thursday. She didn't make contact until late on Sunday saying she had been busy and that she would send details the next day . When she did send the menu via WhatsApp, there wasn't much detail and no indication of quality i.e. 'some bread'. I asked to discuss it but understood that she was at the hospital with her partner that day so agreed to wait until Tuesday. On Tuesday she said she would meet but she had to pick her partner up from the hospital first. I messaged to ask when she would be available but she didn't reply. At 10.20am on Wednesday when she still hadn't contacted me I made the decision to cancel. I don't think this is unreasonable, given it was a week down the line and I still didn't know what food I was having. Also I only had a week before the wake to make alternative arrangements . I understand she had a lot on but it is a business and if she couldn't cope with the workload she shouldn't have taken it on. I should not be dealing with this at a time of grief.
