I am very disappointed in this pub. The food come out cold not even cooked. It was literally a microwave meal. The service was really bad. The amount of food you get is ridiculous, 4 potatoes frozen carrots. Raw parsnips. Potatoes are dry. 2 bits of meat. I can make 2 chicken nuggest from the chicken. We asked for more gravy, they said they are doing it so we waited as we needed it for our food and we waited 20-30 minutes for gravy and she said she is doing it now. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONE COME HERE!!!
After having a very stressful day at the office I came into my local and had some food and a bottle of wine. Upon arriving I was greeted by Isobelle. It was nice and warm and had a meal which was very nice. Later in the afternoon the chef, Matt, came to serve on the bar & may I say his service and people skills are more deserved of Front Of House than Back Of House. Overall the two individuals who I have named made my experience enjoyable and if there is any company rewards scheme then these two persons should be rewarded. They are an asset to the Greene King company and thus should be rewarded.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon, the whole family chose to have the roasts - a young waitress (red hair) who was very attentive came over and asked how our food was and we told her it was excellent (hot, tasty and great portion size!) - we were so impressed.. especially considering the price being so reasonable - she then passed the is feedback onto the kitchen because when we ordered desserts the head chef bought them out and thanked us for coming to eat and loved our compliments - which was a lovely touch! As we were leaving the manager thanked us and invited us back for a quiz that evening! We will certainly be back!
Ate here the other day. Food is way better than a few years ago. Menu's got more variety, flavours are nice and food was served quickly. If you haven't been here in a while, it's good!
I recently revisited here after a few years, and I must say, the improvement in their food is truly remarkable. The menu has been elevated to a whole new level, with a creative and diverse selection of dishes. The quality of ingredients and flavours in each dish has significantly improved, leaving a lasting impression. It's clear that the kitchen staff has stepped up their game, and I'm excited to come back and try other menu items. If you haven't been in a while, it's definitely worth another visit to savour the delicious transformation.
